This graceful, single-story Queen Anne-style wood-frame house with a wraparound porch was built in 1912, for Rutherford Birchard Hayes Yates, Sr. (1878-1944). Rutherford, an educator and co-founder of the Yates Printing Co. was the son of Reverend John Henry (“Jack”) Yates, the first official pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

This home needs $90,000 toward its final restoration as the Yates Printers and Publishers Museum.
